How to exclude users from Engagement surveys
Last updated: March 20, 2026
Quick Summary
You can exclude users from Engagement surveys by targeting specific participants, disabling survey participation per user, or using HRIS data filters. The right method depends on whether you want to exclude users temporarily or permanently.
Steps
To target specific users, go to the survey setup and use the Participants field to include only the desired users or segments.
Review the participant list to confirm the correct audience is selected.
To exclude an individual from all surveys, go to Members.
Click the edit icon for the user.
Unselect Participating in engagement to fully exclude them.
Tip: For one-off surveys, you can also target individual questions to different participants within the same survey.
Common Issue
If a user still receives surveys after being excluded, check:
Whether the change was made after the survey was already sent
If the user was re-enabled during an active survey
Fix: Changes only apply to future surveys. If re-enabled during an ongoing survey, the user will receive that survey.
