In the Group Admin role you have some extended access and responsibilities in Teamspective. Don’t worry, there’s not too much to do and we’ll go through them here together so you’ll get an easy start. We’ll also share some further reading tips in the end.
If you’re completely new to Teamspective, we recommend that you check the new user guides first before diving into this content. These contain some basics which we will skip in this guide:
What’s different for a Group Admin?
In a nutshell, group admins have access to these features which a regular user does not:
See non-public pulse comments of your teams
Remove users from your teams
Control who has admin rights in your teams
Set team members as spectators by excluding their pulse answers from your team results (this does not adjust results retroactively!)
In pulse results you can see recommended actions and related materials which help you facilitate discussions in your teams
Next we’ll introduce these admin features to you:
Managing your team
You can manage your team's members in Workspace -> Groups.
For existing members you have 2 options:
Toggle whether that person’s answers are included in this team’s pulse results.
Default setting is to include the answers, but you can exclude them for example if someone is only observing this team or temporarily working in another team, or is on an extended leave.
Toggle whether that person is a Team admin or not.
Remove the person from the team.
Removing will not delete the user's results from the team's past results.
The user will still receive the pulse if they are included in another team, but their results will not be linked with this team's results.
Removing users here does not delete user accounts or access to the workspace, only their membership in the team.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This impacts how the responses are saved, thus the setting cannot be adjusted retroactively for past pulse rounds. Ie. someone's past pulse results can't be included later on into a team's results.
Taking action on pulse results
Another important functionality is recommended actions for pulse results - Quick Tips. If your team has any pulse themes with a score that is lower than our automated analytics would expect, you will see recommendations on that page.
These recommendations help you decide where to focus with your team, and the related materials are designed to guide you on preparing effective discussions and workshops to battle the challenges.
Further actionable tips for pulse surveys are available in these articles.
These are the main additional functionalities for team admins, in addition to the ones available to every Teamspective user. Make good use of them and you’ll see the benefits!
