Feedback is a skill, which can be improved. In a nutshell, most common options for that are:
Lectures to increase knowledge at scale
Workshops to practice feedback skills
Content to educate at people's own schedule
Practice in action
Lectures and workshops are great when you want to secure the attention on the topic. The possible downside is that these are not easy to replicate frequently, and people tend to forget most of the new learnings if they are not practiced actively afterwards.
Content, made available easily and on-demand, is powerful. People learn best when they are motivated, and at work that often happens when a certain skill or knowledge is needed. Our blog series about feedback skills is a great starting point:
Practice makes perfect, and that applies to feedback as well. The long term solution to increasing feedback skills is to establish systematic feedback culture (see more below), give employees tools that support the activity and remind about best practices, and support to improve their skills (which we just went through).
The best outcome is usually achieved with some combination of these!
