Setting up the Teamspective AI Connector for Claude

Overview

This guide walks you through connecting Teamspective to Claude for your organization.

Setup involves 2 steps:

  1. an IT administrator adds the Teamspective connector to your Claude organization once, and

  2. then each user authenticates individually to link their own account.


Step 1 (IT): Add the Teamspective MCP connector to your Claude organization

  1. Sign in to your Claude organization account at claude.ai.

  2. Follow Claude's instructions for adding a custom connector.

  3. When prompted, enter the following details:

    • Name: Teamspective

    • URL: https://app.teamspective.com/mcp

    • All other fields: leave blank

  4. Save and publish the connector to make it available to your team.

Note: Enabling the connector makes it visible to your team members — it does not automatically grant anyone access to Teamspective data. Each person must authenticate individually (Step 2).


Step 2 (Each user): Connect your Claude account to Teamspective

After your IT administrator has enabled the connector, each user completes their own connection from within Teamspective:

  1. In Teamspective, go to Workspace → AI Connector.

  2. Under Connect to, select the Claude tab.

  3. Open Claude.ai and go to Settings → Connectors.

  4. Click "Add custom connector".

  5. Enter Teamspective as the name.

  6. Paste https://app.teamspective.com/mcp into the URL field.

  7. Leave Client ID and Secret empty — these are optional.

  8. Click "Add" and wait for the connector to be created.

  9. Click "Connect" and authorize access when prompted.

Tip: Make sure you are logged in to your Teamspective account before starting the authorization flow.

Once connected, you can ask questions about your Teamspective data directly in Claude — no file exports or uploads needed.
